Our WalMart has a Kodak kiosk that prints a book right there. The sample on display looks pretty good, but it is one-side printing only.

An alternative is to print it at home, then mount the pages in a scrapbooking album.
References :
The problem is not in the printing its in the binding of the pages together. You can use ring binder type albums, but they always look a little amateurish.

Use double sided photo paper, Any image manipulation program will give you a better job than IPhoto, but its in your level of expertise that counts.

Basically your putting multiple images plus text onto a canvas, Word or other desk top publishing packages all have album layouts, you might try one of these. There are loads of Word Templates available on the Web. There is also 'Scrapbooking' software out there too.

Almost everybody in the world owns a digital camera, and more than half of them consider themselves to be photographers. If there was any effective way of selling images online - for amateurs, all of these people would be wealthy.

The short answer is no.
References :
How to print a photobook at home?
I'm trying to design a photobook however I need to do it quickly and the company I was ordering it from can't get it ready in time. So I thought I could do it at home. I have a good printer and photo paper, however I don't know how to arrange page design on my PC. Does anyone know if there is a programme I can download to do this? Or is there any way I can do it with the standard programmes you have on a PC? I really want it to look really good.

Selling photos online (deviant, flickr, etc.)?
My dad is a professional photographer, who recently decided to sell his photos online. He already sets up shop in festivals (you know, those 10x10 tents). Profit is quite good. His photos ranged from $20 ~ $400. So can any of you let me know of a good site to sell his prints, with the option of frames, matting, etc. No ebay please. Also, please inform me on how much commission is taken from each sale from certain sites. I've been considering deviantart for a while. If you have had experience with selling photography online, then please without hesitation, tell me of your experiences (good and bad). Thank you very much!

yes you can, if its 8mm or 16mm its very fiddly and expensive. and the image will be very grainy. any bigger than 6 x10cm and its not worth looking at. if its 35mm film its a bit better, but a 35mm film frame is called ½ frame and is only slightly better than full frame 16mm. You would need an enlarger, and colour reversal chemistry plus the paper and safe light (very dark brown) etc. but it can be done.
References :
me, 40 years professional photographer, and still counting

Andoni has given the only correct answer so far...

The question was about FILM. That means real 8mm, Super-8, or 16mm movie film.

Where are people getting Windows Movie Maker from? If we're reading the question right, I'm assuming he meant real movie film, not digital. (Yes, real 8mm and 16mm movie film still exists and a lot of people do use it as a hobby)

Movie film is usually "color reversal" film, so that when exposed and developed, it forms a positive image instead of the negative that you get with picture film. But a lab should be able to scan the frame and print a picture for you. (I don't know if the traditional way of making prints with an enlarger would work with color reversal film.)

If you really did mean a digital camera, that you accidently recorded a video instead of taking still pictures, then you could always just get screen captures from the video. But somehow, if I'm reading the question right, I think you meant traditional movie film.
References :
if its 8mm forget about it, if its 16mm yes but could be grainy as, if 35 or 70mm then yes you cut out a frame and take it to a professional photographic lab and they can scan it then give you a print
